SPEARFISH, SD – The lucky winner of the 8th Annual Benefit Quilt Raffle for Hospice of the Northern Hills is Charley Conger from Spearfish. The “Winter Wonderland” quilt was created and donated by Lois Gibson, Judy Flickema, Shirley Sipe, and Karen Bridges.
Dakota Quilt Company in Spearfish donated the queen size quilt. Tickets were sold in Northern Hills Regional Health facilities by the Hospice staff and the Dakota Quilt Company.
Karen Bridges, Hospice of the Northern Hills Social Worker and quilt crafter, was pleased with the raffle results. “This was a great year and we raised exactly $2,015,” Bridges said.
All of the proceeds from the quilt raffle will benefit Hospice of the Northern Hills. Hospice is a special kind of caring for terminally ill people. The heart of the Hospice program is to provide physical comfort, in addition to psychological, emotional and spiritual support for individuals who are no longer seeking a cure for a terminal illness.
